The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign for the Parkersburg area ended their 2007 effort on Friday December, 14th . This years efforts were very successful topping the past years, thanks in part to the help from Par Mar Convenience Stores.
Par Mar Stores and their valued customers raised over $25,000 in cash donations through various promotional efforts at their many gas station convenience stores. Kicking off in July with a “Fill the Stocking” event for Christmas in July, and continuing through the latest efforts in November, Par Mar Management challenged their local stores and employees to help with the fundraising, Par Mar then matched the customer donations doubling the total amount raised.
Sandra Morgenstern, President and COO of Par Mar Stores, says their company embraces this annual campaign because, “The local money, the local donations, stay local and help families and children of which the money was raised. There are many worthy causes, but what better than helping the underprivileged children of our home area”.
Par Mar stores headquartered in Marietta, Ohio, operates over 40 gas station convenience stores located throughout northern West Virginia, southern Ohio and eastern Kentucky area. This is Par Mar Stores eighth year for raising funds for less fortunate children on Christmas morning. This year was the second highest amount given to the Toys for Tots foundation. In 2005, Par Mar Stores donated over $30,000.00.
