Charleston, WV (March 1, 2013) – Par Mar Oil Company has graciously donated $4,000 to the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia to help support the WE CAN Mentoring Program. Funds were made possible by the BP Fueling Communities Grant.
BP Fueling Communities provides grant donations to local organization that are nominated by local BP business owners to support the communities in which they do business. Fueling Communities gives back to local organizations that support health, education, youth, food and housing in order to spread charity and goodwill wherever it’s needed.
Par Mar Oil Company was established in 1967 and opened its first convenience store in 1979. Par Mar currently has 51 locations throughout West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. Jeralynne Offenberger, Marketing Supervisor at Par Mar, stated, “the Par Mar Stores are proud to give back to the community and are pleased to work with the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. Par Mar is very appreciative to work with such a great organization as Children’s Home Society so we can all meet our goals and work with children in our community.”
The Children’s Home Society’s WE CAN Program is a community based program that works to help at-risk children and their families. Mentors assist professionally trained staff in providing needed services to children and families. Mentoring services include: friendship, self-confidence building, tutoring, positive role modeling and developing positive social skills.

The Children’s Home Society of West Virginia is a private, non-profit child welfare organization founded in 1896. The Society provides comprehensive child welfare, behavioral health, social casework and advocacy services. Last year the Society provided services to 12,898 children and families from thirteen primary locations throughout the state.
