March 3, 2014 (Marietta, OH)-Through generous donations from its customers, vendors and its employees embracing each fundraising event, Par Mar Stores exceeds $79,000 in Giving Back Campaigns in 2013.
Throughout the year, Par Mar Stores gives back to their communities in various ways through Giving Back Campaigns. These campaigns range from Wednesday Wish Days for children on Christmas morning, to educational grants, Make-a-Wish® and the Children’s Home Society. “Our Giving Back Campaigns is the Par Mar way of giving back to our community that support our stores every day” says Sandra Morgenstern, President and Chief Executive Officer of Par Mar Oil Company. “Our associates go the extra mile with each campaign to support their community whether it be a Make-A-Wish star, a Wednesday Wish Day tag or a Children’s Home Society flower. It is an honor to be part of a company that gives back to its community!”
Par Mar Stores has 52 locations in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. The chain can trace its roots in Parkersburg, WV and Marietta, OH when established in 1967. For the past 15 years, Par Mar has raised over $275,000 through Wednesday Wish Days. Wednesday Wish Days was the first Giving Back Campaign for Par Mar Stores but it certainly is not the only fundraising initiative.
Par Mar Stores will continue its efforts in May with the West Virginia Children Home Society Bring it Home for Mother’s Day campaign and Relay for Life in Washington County, Ohio.
